Holding our breath . . .

Our friends, Sarah and Jason are sooooooo close to having their beautiful baby boy. We'll be in Kansas until Tuesday night, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we get to meet the little one.

Catch of the Summer!

Check out Dad Gomez in San Pedro, Belize. He caught a 16.5 pound Barracuda - some good eating. He ate this catch twice there, and brought some filet back for us to try.

We picked up the Gomez parents last night from KCI. They returned from their month and half retreat from Belize and we are currently staying at their home in Atchison, Kansas.

First Haircut

Seems like Alejandro is having a lot of 'first times' this trip to Kansas. Flying for the first time, walking for the first time, and yesterday, he had his first haircut. I also forgot to mention in yesterday's blog entry that he turned 10 months old. Enjoy the photos.

Walking!!!

Alejandro walked for the first time last night, taking 3 steps before falling down. Today, I caught him in action (about 20 minutes ago) and I had to post his progress to the Monkey Business fans.

This is going to be interesting . . .

First Flight

Alejandro was going crazy on his first plane flight to Dallas from Albuquerque. During this picture, he was screaming in excitement at the top of his lungs, completely ignoring the new rules of remaining calm during the flight.

Per Sarah's request - Our Home!

We wanted to post some pictures of our house, so everyone can get an idea of where we live. As you can see from the trim, we still have some work to do on the outside.

Our bedroom has been painted, and although it looks like we went with pink, it's really "pueblo sand". We've gone with a "calla lilly" trim and ceiling.

The dining room has been painted an "orange confection" with the same trim as the bedrooms. I think we're going to keep the same trim throughout the house. We'll be posting more pictures of the house soon.

Take me out to the ball game . . .

. . . take me out the crowd.

Alejandro went to his first baseball game, watching our home team, the Albuquerque Isotopes (minor league, but still cool for the little guy.) lose in the 17th inning.

The Albuquerque Isotopes were named after a Simpson's episode where Homer is at Moe's bar watching the Albuquerque Isotopes game on T.V., a fictional team at the time of it's release. It's a split second of a Simpson's show that turned into a reality we enjoyed at $6 a ticket.

Happy Anniversary - To Us!

3 beautiful years ago, we were married
surrounded by family and friends.
3 moves, 4 cats and 1 baby later,
we couldn't be more blessed.

Alejandro the Explorer

Alejandro spent some of this week outside (we've had rain for the past two weeks - imagine that in a desert). It's amazing how fast he can crawl now. He was chasing our cats around the yard and grabbing their tails.

The cats are in for a real treat when he starts walking.

10 years ago . . .

I haven't been able to date this pic, but it's vintage. I may have been 17 (just a year under the legal age of drinking in Belize). My cousin, Katy and I take a break from drinking out own drinks to slurp off the shared Margarita.

My parents have a little over two weeks left on their trip to Belize. I hope they are enjoying it as I once did.

Honest Boss

This link from Hallmark reminds me a lot of a former boss. I won't mention any names, we'll just call her Beef Crazen.

Walking to a town near you

Check this out!

He's walking with the help of only one hand! Leticia has really been working with him lately, and I can tell he is progressing quickly. We anticipate he'll be walking on his own within the next couple of months.

I believe when I took this picture, he was saying "I can't wait to see everyone in Kansas City." He also predicted Sarah and Jay would have little Roman aka Ramon between July 25 and August 1 when we visit Kansas. Remember, he was speaking in baby, and I'm not fluent yet.

To give an update on the fam, we've been busy. Leticia is preparing for her job that will start next month, and I'm juggling my full-time job and freelance work.

Speaking of work - I got a raise today! It was a great review and I'm thinking about staying with the company for awhile.

We're updating our bathroom, putting in new tile on the floor and shower walls. We've also purchased new hardware for the shower. The next project is to redo the floors in the kitchen and dining room.

I almost forgot! Beth Becker and her family are going to have dinner at our house this Monday. It's going to be interesting to see how we can fit all 12 at the table.

Meet - The Monkey!

This mammal wanders the play gym forest, feeding on anything his little hands and two teeth can grasp. He's a fun, interactive, little man who enjoys long walks and pulling women's hair. He's coming to Kansas City soon, so beware.

New Blog-a-licious

Hey homies,

You're now tuned into Monkey-bisquick, aka Monkey Bizznizz, the new blog for Marcelo, Leticia and Alejandro Gomez. The place where all funky things shall come. Would you like to come . . .

This is where you'll find tons of useless information and pictures of little homestyle AJ. This is our first blog, so be warned, it will suck! But keep coming back and I promise, we might get better.

Peace from the Southwest Gs
